Postkarten sind persönlich. Fremde Handschrift, Adressen, Namen von Menschen, die nie gefragt wurden, ob ihre Zeilen in eine Cloud wandern. Deshalb ist die Voreinstellung zurückhaltend:
- Ohne KI-Analyse verlässt kein Foto dein Gerät, außer für den Sync deiner eigenen Sammlung auf einen Server in der EU.
- Die KI-Analyse ist optional und läuft erst, nachdem du einmalig zugestimmt hast. Du startest sie pro Karte selbst oder schaltest den automatischen Start ein, und du kannst die Zustimmung jederzeit zurücknehmen.
- Deine Freundesliste wird nie an die KI geschickt. Der Abgleich von Absendern mit Personen passiert lokal.
- Dein Standort bleibt auf dem Gerät, auch wenn du Reisehinweise einschaltest.
- Es gibt keine Werbung, kein Tracking und keine Weitergabe deiner Daten zu Werbezwecken.
- Du kannst dein Konto jederzeit in der App löschen.
Privacy
Your cards belong to you
Postcards are personal. Other people's handwriting, addresses, names of people who were never asked whether their lines would end up in a cloud. That is why the default is restrained:
- Without AI analysis no photo leaves your device, except to sync your own collection to a server in the EU.
- AI analysis is optional and only runs after you have given consent once. You start it per card yourself or switch on automatic start, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
- Your friend list is never sent to the AI. Matching senders against people happens locally.
- Your location stays on the device, even with travel hints switched on.
- There is no advertising, no tracking and no sharing of your data for advertising purposes.
- You can delete your account in the app at any time.

Single analysis packs are available without a subscription too. You can see the exact allowances in the app under Profile at any time. Subscriptions run through your Apple ID and can be cancelled there at any time. During the launch phase every member feature is unlocked for everyone, only the AI allowances apply as described.

Brauche ich einen Scanner?
Nein. Die Kamera deines iPhones reicht. Du kannst Karten auch aus der Fotomediathek importieren oder aus einem PDF, falls du schon einmal gescannt hast.
Funktioniert die App ohne Internet?
Ja. Deine Sammlung liegt auf dem Gerät und ist immer verfügbar. Das Internet brauchst du für den Sync zwischen deinen Geräten, für Freunde, für die Ortssuche und für die optionale KI-Analyse.
Was passiert mit den Fotos meiner Karten?
Sie liegen auf deinem Gerät und, wenn du angemeldet bist, verschlüsselt übertragen auf einem Server in der EU. An die KI gehen sie nur, wenn du eine KI-Analyse startest oder den automatischen Start einschaltest, und auch dann nur die Karte, um die es geht.
Kann ich meine Sammlung wieder herausbekommen?
Ja. In den Einstellungen kannst du eine vollständige Sicherung deiner Sammlung als Archiv exportieren, Bilder inbegriffen.
Wie erkenne ich, ob die Analyse richtig liegt?
Jeder Vorschlag kommt mit den Belegen, aus denen er gefolgert wurde, und du übernimmst jedes Feld einzeln. Nichts wird ungefragt in deine Karte geschrieben.
Gibt es die App auch für Android?
Derzeit nicht. Dearly Kept ist eine native App für iPhone und iPad.
Do I need a scanner?
No. Your iPhone camera is enough. You can also import cards from your photo library or from a PDF, if you have scanned them before.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. Your collection lives on the device and is always available. You need the internet for syncing between your devices, for friends, for place lookup and for the optional AI analysis.
What happens to the photos of my cards?
They stay on your device and, if you are signed in, on a server in the EU, transmitted encrypted. They only go to the AI when you start an AI analysis or switch on automatic start, and even then only the card in question.
Can I get my collection back out?
Yes. In the settings you can export a complete backup of your collection as an archive, images included.
How do I know whether the analysis is right?
Every suggestion comes with the evidence it was derived from, and you accept each field individually. Nothing is written into your card unasked.
Is there an Android version?
Not at the moment. Dearly Kept is a native app for iPhone and iPad.
